Tandoori Roti is a very popular Indian flatbread. It is traditionally made in a tandoor (a round clay oven) at a high temperature. It is best served with Indian curries.
Serves: 4 portions
INGREDIENTS
· Whole wheat flour (atta) 1kg
· Salt 30gms
· Oil 30ml
METHOD
1. Sieve the flour and salt together.
2. Gradually pour water in the flour and knead it to a smooth dough.
3. Rest it for 20 minutes and then knead the dough without leaving any dry flour, sprinkling oil and water if required.
4. Transfer the dough into another container.
5. Make balls of 60gms each and leave them to rest.
6. Flatten the balls with your palm, and bake in tandoor.
