Veg Burger


Go meat-free with my delectable and nutritious veg burger, loaded with greens!

Serves: 10 portions

 

INGREDIENTS

· Oil 100ml

· Onion 400gms

· Leek 20gms

· Celery 20gms

· Carrot 500gms

· Sweet corn kernels 200gms

· Green peas 200gms

· Potato 800gms

· Beans 200gms

· Roasted cumin powder 10gms

· Salt 10gms

· Pepper 5gms

· Refined oil 50ml

· Bread crumbs 100gms

· Butter 30gms

· Tomato 400gms

· Iceberg lettuce 600gms

· Mayonnaise 400gms

· Cheese slice 10 pcs

· Burger buns 10 pcs


METHOD

For the veg patty:

1. Sauté Chopped onion, chopped leek, Chopped celery in a pan.

2. Add chopped and blanched carrot, beans, sweet corn kernels and green peas to the cooking pan.

3. Take the ingredients of the bowl and crush lightly in a blender.

4. Boil and grate mash potatoes and keep aside.

5. Add mashed potato to the above mix.

6. Add roasted cumin powder, salt and pepper to it.

7. For binding, add flour and breadcrumbs to it.

8. Once the mixture is ready, make balls of the mixture and flatten with your palms.

9. Heat oil in a pan, add the flattened mixture.

10. Cook the patty on both sides until it turns brown.

For assembling the burger:

1. Take the burger bun and slice from the centre into equal halves.

2. Add a little butter on the pan, toast the inner sides of the bun.

3. Spread mayonnaise on the inner sides of the burger.

4. Add some iceberg lettuce, slices of tomato.

5. Sprinkle some salt and pepper over the top.

6. Place the patty on top.

7. Place a slice of cheese on top.

8. Close the bun into a burger.

9. Serve hot

CHEF’S TIPS:

1. Burgers can be served with a side of French fries.

2. To make the burger spicy, you can add chopped jalapenos from top.

3. You can add other vegetables of desired.

4. You can coat the burger by using a cornflour slurry and breadcrumbs. Then fry it. It will make the patty crispy.
