Ditch your boring old chicken curry and bring up the heat quotient with this fiery, Kohlapuri style mutton curry.
Serves: 4 portions
INGREDIENTS · Lamb curry cut 1kg · Red chilly powder 20gms · Oil 40ml · Tomato chopped 120gms · Onion chopped 200gms · Coriander leaves For garnish · Salt To taste · Turmeric powder 20gms · Sesame seeds 15gms · Cardamom 2pcs · Fresh coconut 20gms · Dry Coconut 80gms · Ginger garlic paste 40gms · Black pepper 15gms · Cinnamon sticks 2pcs · Cloves 5pcs · Poppy seeds 20gms · Ghee 40gms · Sesame seeds 20gms · Kolhapuri masala 80gms
METHOD
1. Marinate mutton with ginger,garlic paste,turmeric and salt at least for an hour.
2. Heat oil in a copper pan add cloves, black pepper, cinnamon sticks, onion, sesame seeds & dry coconut.
3. Fry it until the onion becomes light brown. After that put this in a grinder.
4. Heat the oil in a copper handi add bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon, pepper, poppy seeds, onion. Fry till light brown & add tomatoes.
5. Now add mutton & salt ,stir it . Starts boiling,add the water into the pan. Close lid ,let it cook for sometime.
6. When mutton is half cooked add the grinded masala & kolhapuri masala. Mix it well.
7. Add ghee.
8. Garnish the meat with the coriander leaves.
10. Serve warm
