Moong Daal Halwa is a classic Indian dessert that not only tastes delicious but it also aromatic owing to the cardamom. This dessert makes every celebration even more special.

INGREDIENTS
Moong Daal 1kg
Ghee(clarified butter) 100gms
Milk 1L
Sugar 200 gms
Green cardamom powder 5 gms
Cashews 30gms
METHOD
Take moong daal in a bowl, wash it and soak it for 5-6 hours or overnight.
After that, grind the soaked moong daal into a smooth paste. Add water if required.
Take ghee in a deep bottom pan and add this paste to it. Cook until extra fat starts leaving from
the sides.
In a separate pan, take milk and sugar and boil it. Keep aside.
Once the moong daal dries completely and becomes granular in texture, add the sugared milk to it. Stir well.
Add cardamom powder and cashews.
Cook until the halwa dries up leaving all the extra fat.
Serve hot with chopped almond slivers
CHEF'S TIP
Once the hot milk is added to the moong daal paste, make sure to stir it well so that no lumps are formed.
