Mirchi Vada


The Jodhpuri Mirchi vada is a spicy Indian snack consisting of green peppers and potato or cauliflower stuffing.

Serves: 4 portions


 

INGREDIENTS

  • Bhavnagiri chili 12 pcs

  • Boiled mashed potato 200gms

  • Red chili powder 10gms

  • Coriander powder 5gms

  • Chopped coriander leaves 10gms

  • Salt to taste

  • Dry mango powder 10gms

  • Hing 5gms

For the Batter:

  • Besan 200gms

  • Turmeric powder 5gms

  • Red chili powder 20gms

  • Fennel 20gms

  • Ginger Garlic Paste 40gms

  • Salt 20gms

  • Oil 200ml

METHOD

1. In a bowl, add the boil potatoes and mash it well. Add red chili powder, coriander powder, dry mango powder, fennel and hing. Mix well.

2. Slit the chilies and deseed them. Take the potato mix and fill them evenly inside the slit chilies.

3. In another mixing bowl, combine all the batter ingredients.

4. In a pan, heat oil for frying. Once the oil is hot, reduce flame to medium.

5. Coat the mirchi in the batter evenly and deep fry them in the pan.

6. Let them fry till they turn golden brown.

7. Serve with tamarind chutney.
