One pot rice & moong lentil dish
Serves: 4 portions
INGREDIENTS
· Rice 350gms
· Chilke wali green moong dal 200gms
· Ghee desi 75gms
· Jeera 10gms
· Ginger 25gms
· Turmeric 5gms
· Hing-asafoetida 2gms
· Salt 20gms
· Chopped coriander leaves 25gms
METHOD
Sona masoori or Ponni rice to be cooked till mashed.
Moong dal to be roasted and then boiled.
Take ghee in a pan, add jeera and chopped ginger.
Add turmeric powder, asafoetida and boiled dal in it.
Add mashed rice and finish with salt and chopped coriander leaves.
Add ghee and red chili on top and cover the khichdi before serving.
Serve with hot kadhi and curd or Rajasthani papad.
