Fish Tikka (also known as Mahi Tikka) is prepared by marinating the fish cubes in a marinade of yoghurt, lemon juice and spices and is then grilled. It is a simple and easy recipe. It tastes best when served with green chutney and onions.
Serves: 4 portions
INGREDIENTS
· Bekti fish cubes 720gms
· Lime juice 50gms
· Ginger and garlic paste 40gms
· Tandoori masala (see recipe) 280gms
· Melted butter 20gms
· Kebab masala 10gms
METHOD
1. Marinate the bekti cubes with the lemon juice, salt, ginger garlic paste and leave aside for 30 minutes.
2. Drain excess marination from the Bekti cubes and marinate it in tandoori masala and keep aside for 2 hours.
3. Skewer the fish on a rod and cook it in a moderate hot tandoor at 180 deg C for 10 minutes. If cooking at home, put oven on 180 for 10 minutes.
