Shami Kebab is a delectable non-vegetarian snack recipe prepared using meat and chana dal along with a filling of onions, coriander, and aromatic spices
Serves: 4 portions
INGREDIENTS
· Chana dal (pre-soaked in water) 40gms
· Minced chicken 400gms
· Salt to taste
· Cloves 4pcs
· Black pepper 4pcs
· Green cardamom 4pcs
· Black cardamom 2pcs
· Bay leaf 2pcs
· Cinnamon stick 2pcs
· Chopped coriander 2tsp
· Egg 1pc
· Elaichi powder a pinch
METHOD
1. Boil channa dal with salt cloves, black pepper, green cardamom, black cardamom, bay leaf, cinnamon stick when 3/4 th cooked then add chicken mince, cook on slow fire until and water gets evaporated.
2. Remove whole condiments and keep it for cooling
3. In a processor put the cooked mixture and make a fine paste. Transfer this to a bowl and add chopped coriander, egg, elaichi javitri powder and mix well to a smooth consistency and keep aside for 1 hour
4. Divide the mixture into 05 equal parts and make balls. Apply little melted ghee on palm and flatten the mince balls into a round medallion (tikki) shape.
5. Heat oil in a kadhai/ pan and deep fry until golden brown and crispy.
6. Serve hot along with a choice of a salad and chutney.
